Top 3 Last Minute Valentine's Gifts With A Freebie For The Kids

To Valentine’s or not to Valentine’s

There’s always a lot of talk online at this time of year about whether people partake in Valentine’s Day or not. On the one hand it can been seen as a holiday invented by the big guys just to make all the money, but on the other hand others like to use it as an opportunity to show a little love amidst our busy lives.

I’d be intrigued to know which camp you’re in?! We are kind of in the middle I guess, don’t go all out with big presents and plans but more a Marks and Spencer’s dine in for two kind of job. Suits us, but if you are in the market for a Valentine’s gift or two which can still be purchased to arrive on time for the day of love then I’ve got you covered. Just be sure to select next day delivery at checkout.

3 last minute Valentine’s gifts

1. Leather and cotton roses

These handmade flowers are popular in the shop to celebrate all kinds of love from anniversaries to Valentine’s Day and beyond. Made in the studio near Cambridge these flowers are crafted by hand from start to finish. So if you’ve not got the skills to make something yourself but would still like to give a handmade Valentine’s gift to your loved one then these could be the perfect choice.

A small white ceramic bottle is available to purchase with all flowers which can personalised with ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ or a short message of your choice, for an added thoughtful touch. You can also choose to have your flowers gift wrapped with beautiful tissue paper and ribbon which can then be sent directly to the lucky recipient.

2. Red wooden roses

These wooden roses are the perfect option if you would like to send some red roses to your loved one this Valentine’s Day but would rather you got a bit more bang for your buck with blooms that will last forever! Hand drawn and then digitally printed onto FSC certified beautiful birch plywood, they look great in a small bottle or vase, or add a white ceramic bottle to your order for immediate display. The bottles can also be personalised for an added touch and you can purchase additional flowers at a reduced price for a fuller display.

You can also choose to have these gift wrapped and a card with your message handwritten on can be included too. You can have these sent direct to your loved one to save on postage and also make sure that they arrive as soon as possible.

3. Wooden rose brooch and earrings

To continue the Valentine’s rose theme but with more of an accessories vibe rather than homeware we’ve got the wooden rose earrings and brooch. Available to purchase separately or why not treat them to the matching set.

Printed onto beautiful birch plywood again, the earrings are made using hypoallergenic, stainless steel earring backs and would complement most outfits with their pink tone.

And if roses aren’t for you there are 15 other flowers in the shop, in both earring and brooch form, including sunflowers, daisies, peonies, poppies and more. All accessories can be gift wrapped and sent direct making the perfect Valentine’s suprise.

Valentine’s cards from the kids

Another topic up for debate when it comes to Valentine’s is do you get presents or cards from your kids? When I knew I was going to be a mum I was super excited about the little homemade pictures and cards I might get from my little one from nursery for Valentine’s day, but for various reasons he didn’t go until he was older so it seemed that I missed the boat. Good job we had two more to come up with the goods!

It can sometimes feel like an extra job to do when you have kids, like do we really need another piece of artwork to work out how to store, but I personally do like a little card from my small people. Something for me to keep for when I’m old and grey and crying over how small their handprints were!

So if you think your partner would also appreciate a handmade Valentine’s card from your kids then I’ve created a free template for you to use to make life just a little easier. There are several different designs to choose from, all A4 in size which can then be folded to an A5 sized card. Depending on what you print them on to you could use colouring pencils or paints and I‘d love to see what your small people get up to so do share on Instagram if you use them.
